I am a clinically trained Marriage and Family Therapist Licensed in New York and Connecticut, who like you once upon a time sought to unburden myself, find peace and happiness. Upon my travels around the world and through many different interactions, and observations of others I began to reflect on my own happiness. It was like a revelation that hit me. "Who says?" as if to ask myself why did I put myself through the things I did. It's a simple, but penetrating question wrapped up in core beliefs and values and whose answer lies in how I am relating to the world and the different environments I am in.
I realized that I had been living with a lot of noise. I let myself get wrapped up in the pressures of society, comparison of others, and in the narratives that I told myself. Often irrational, but guiding forces that kept me trapped in stress, and unnecessary misery. The day I decided I wanted to choose happy, which for me meant make peace with my past, learn from my imperfect moments, and define my own happiness, I became free. By losing those mental chains, I was able to liberate my mind. So, who says? My happiness lives in the true eternal joy that I feel whole heartedly doing the things I want to do and quieting the noise. It's no longer a question of what it means to be happy. I feel happiness, I recognize it, and I lean into it more easily.
I emphasize my humanness because I am not above you. I personally understand how hard it can be to change, to shift the narrative, and to go after what you want. I will do my best to compassionately take this journey with you in a safe and non-judgmental space.
